Description
It was a beautiful spring day. Marcus was in our long driveway riding his new red tricycle. Chiffon and her family had moved into the house next door the day before. She delightedly rode out to meet her new neighbor on her own pretty blue and yellow tricycle. I ran into the house and retrieved my camera so that I could document the event. They became good friends and played together often. I based this acrylic painting on the photo that I took that day.
Dahlgren Naval Base, also known as the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), is located in King George County, Virginia. The 4,000 acres is bounded by the Potomac River and Machodoc Creek as a remote extension of Maryland’s Indian Head Proving Ground to be used for testing naval guns. My husband was in the Navy and so was Chiffon's father.
